It’s not time yet, but the chains are being re-greased. Extremely excited to get back on the bike.
During this band’s debut, the crowd started to sing along to the lyrics, catching the singer off guard.
Streetlight Manifesto - Linoleum
I was feeling rather down so I set out to explore the city. Taking a streetcar from Etobicoke, I ended up in the Annex area downtown. I saw a friend of mine who lives in the area once I got there, however he was busy at the bank and my exploration was not to be slowed down.
I traveled down past some churches and breweries with their red bricked faces and climbed over a grassy knoll to find myself in a bustling beach community. Hawaiian-style straw huts and little campfires scattered the forested coastline. Little carved/burned wooden signs in the bigger huts offered cheap nights in a yurt, tropical alcoholic drinks, and an array of barbecued food items.
After making a purchase of food and drink, I was scoffed at by a fellow patron of the hut for purchasing an abnormally large bottle of alcohol. Then, I set out to the beach. Contrary to moments before, the weather here was windy and quite cold. The skies, however, were a mix of blue, purple, and pink. As I began to snap pictures of it all, the sky flashed a bright orange. Apparently, a bomb went off in the water. A mushroom cloud erupted, and someone yelled something about a water mine as we started to run away.
I climbed a set of stairs into a modern beach reserve where everyone else had fleed. Large waves started to crash into the building, toppling people over and causing the recently purchased contents of my backpack to shatter.
Once fully inside the safe area, only the periodic crashing of four-storey high waves against the windows were an indication of panic. A fireplace and carpet lined the navy-themed upholstery. Everyone clinked glasses and shared a drink despite being trapped for the time being.
